Frequently Asked Questions

We are curious about all sorts of things that have to do with producing, preparing, and sharing food. We are fascinated by food history and love to hear stories about how what and how we eat, informs who we are.

We are looking for interesting stories from a wide range of people.  Although we often talk to people who are, or have been, in the food industry, we are interested in other food-related conversations as well.

This should feel just like we are hanging out at a great little café, having a relaxed conversation with an old (or new) friend. The questions will be related to your story and the structure is quite organic.

Having said that, we do prepare for the interview and will have a list of "conversation starters" that we are happy to share with you in advance.  If there are any taboo subjects or topics that would make you uncomfortable please let us know.  We tend to stick to the standard dinner party etiquette of avoiding discussions about politics, religion and sex.

Generally our conversation will last about an hour.  We chat a bit and answer any questions you have before we start recording the interview.  The finished podcast is usually between 20 and 30 minutes long after editing.

You very likely have the equipment you will need.  Even the earbuds with microphone that came with your phone will do a good job of capturing the audio.  You will need a space with good acoustics though.  A closet filled with clothes often works remarkably well.

One of the great joys of doing a pre-recorded podcast is the ability to edit out flubbed words, occasional expletives and the dog alerting us to the presence of what must clearly be killer squirrels on the lawn.  We are more interested in personality than perfection and will sort it all out in the editing process.

We will promote the episodes in the following ways:

  • A trailer / teaser for the following week’s podcast will be added at the end of every episode
  • We send an email to our community promoting the episode and encourage you to do the same
  • We will create images and copy for social media promotion of the episode.  We send this out to our contacts and encourage you to do so as well.

We will also provide:

  • Links to your website and/or social media sites.
  • An opportunity for you to briefly promote a product or project of your choice
  • Artwork for the episode that you are welcome to use in your social media and on your website.
